Thanks! I’ve never been to the Burial of the Sardine, but apparently they do it in Murcia too. Maybe a lot of other places.
This is somewhat unrelated, but do you know about plañideras? Women who are paid to go to funerals and cry? Back in the day it worked because the women wore veils and so nobody knew (supposedly) that it wasn’t legit.
