It’s funny how Americans are getting class-conscious all of the sudden. After spending all of Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, and Bush Jr (that’s just 7 presidential administrations, a mere 28 years!) deluding themselves into thinking that everyone was a member of the upper-middle class, finally they realize that actually, they’re getting shafted. As soon as the consumer credit dries up and people can’t keep living on 21% interest and unfounded hope, apparently they suddenly understand that class has never been abolished in America. They find that it’s more difficult than they expected to go out and earn $500,000 to pay off their mortgage, and that living beyond their means isn’t nearly as glamorous as it once seemed. I wonder if they feel stupid for being so blind for so long… Enjoy your class war, folks!
